The incident unfolded just after 1 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 16000 block of Country Ridge Lane, off 21 Mile and Garfield roads in Macomb Township.

According to police, the 38-year-old woman called 911 to report a domestic dispute and while speaking with the dispatcher, several gun shots were heard over the phone.

The woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The husband sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
