Henry Ford Health To Host Nutrition Information Program At 4 Metro Detroit Kroger Locations

DETROIT (WWJ) - Getting advice on a healthy meal or snack is as close as your local grocery store.

Kroger is stocking four of their metro Detroit stores with Henry Ford nutrition experts to answer your questions as part of their LiveWell Wednesdays program.

Registered dietitian Antigone Senn spoke with WWJ health reporter Dr. Deanna Lites about what patrons can expect from the program.

"We offer grocery store tours, alternatives to recipes if there's an allergy to a particular food, we can offer advice for good snacks for children, for people with diabetes, trying to lose weight," Senn said.

Through the end of the year, Henry Ford LiveWell experts will be in four new Kroger locations from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. every Wednesday to answer questions, help shoppers understand food labeling and explain how to make healthy substitutions. The four new stores are:

  • Commerce Twp., 39950 W. 14 Mile Rd., (14 Mile/Haggerty Rd.)
  • Southfield, 19855 W. 12 Mile Rd., (12 Mile/Evergreen)
  • Taylor, 7000 Monroe Blvd., (Monroe Blvd/Ecorse Rd.)
  • Warren, 13700 E. 14 Mile Rd., (14 Mile/Schoenherr)
