FBI Seeks Unknown Man Seen With Child Sex Assault Victim [PHOTOS]

DETROIT (WWJ) - The FBI is seeking the public's help in a nationwide search for a man seen with a child in a pornographic video.

Authorities are not explicitly calling this man a suspect, but they say they want to identify the unknown male "who may have critical information pertaining to the identity of a child victim in an ongoing sexual exploitation investigation."

The man, who is being called John Doe 37, was seen in video obtained by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June of 2014. Data embedded within the video files indicates that the files were produced in April of 2012, and audio from the animated film "The Land Before Time" can be heard in the background.

It's unclear where the video was recorded.

John Doe 37 is described as a white male with brown hair and wearing dark-framed glasses.

He's being sought as part of the FBI's Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives — both in partnership with the NCMEC.

Operation Rescue Me focuses on utilizing clues obtained through in-depth image analysis to identify the child victims depicted in child exploitation material, while ECAP seeks national and international media exposure of unknown adults (referred to as John/Jane Does) who visibly display their faces and/or other distinguishing characteristics in association with child pornography images.

The FBI wants to remind the public that no charges have been filed in this case and the pictured individual is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Anyone who may know this man or who has any information about this case is asked to submit a tip online at at this link, or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
