DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police say a 12-year-old boy who was reported missing earlier Saturday has returned home safely.

Police say Kenneth Sanders was last seen by his sister around 3:30 p.m. Friday getting onto a school bus in the 4000 block of 29th Street, just north of Michigan Avenue near West Grand Boulevard in southwest Detroit.

Sanders’ family told police that he called his sister from a cellphone around 7:30 p.m. and told her that he was at a friend’s house, but didn’t return home that night.

Police say Sanders lives in the 7500 block of Wetherby, near Warren and Livernois avenues, just over two miles away from the bus stop.
