Authorities Find Two Bodies Believed To Be Missing Duck Hunters

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - The search is over for two men who police say 'just disappeared.'

Authorities in Macomb County searching Lake St. Clair for a father and son reported missing after failing to return from duck hunting have found two bodies Sunday afternoon.

Authorities tell WWJ that the bodies of two men have been recovered from Lake St. Clair, believed to be the missing father and son, Timothy Hughes and Daniel Hughes from Jackson County.

The bodies were recovered in Canadian waters, approximately 4 miles from Seaway Island. Their boat was located in the same area.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham reports Sunday that multiple agencies -- including the Coast Guard -- were involved in the search operation.

The 59-year-old father and his 24-year-old son left their Jackson County home early Saturday morning, but didn't return that night.

The Jackson County sheriff's office reported via police teletype that they were reported missing.

Their pickup truck and boat trailer were found Sunday at the Lake St. Clair Metropark boat launch in Harrison Township, northeast of Detroit, presumably parked in the same spot.

The families have been notified.
