2 Men Drown In Livingston County Lake While Helping Others

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP (WWJ/AP) - Two men have drowned while on a crew removing buoys from a lake in Livingston County.

The men were identified by Green Oak Township police as Clarkston residents, 38- and 20-years-old. They drowned while trying to help two co-workers whose boat was sinking Friday night in Hidden Lake, according to police.

The men weren't wearing life jackets, police said, and the cold water and a sudden drop-off in water depth may have also contributed to the drownings.

Two people in the sinking boat survived.
