Man Shot To Death After Buying Phone Charger At Detroit Gas Station

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a 21-year-old Detroit man at a gas station on the city's west side.

The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday at the corner of Joy and Burt roads, just west of Evergreen Road.

According to police, the victim had bought a phone charger from the gas station and was exiting the building when a gunman appeared from between two houses and opened fire.

The victim, whose name wasn't released, was fatally wounded.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and remains at large. A description has not yet been released

Police are also investigating a possible second shooting overnight near the corner of Plymouth and Patton that might be connected to the fatal shooting.
