Police: Man Threatened To Shoot Woman In Bloomfield Township Road Rage Incident

BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - A 48-year-old man has handed his guns over to authorities after he was accused of threatening to shoot a woman during a road rage dispute in Bloomfield Township.

Police say Philip Abraira turned himself in on Monday in connection with the incident back in August.

On Aug. 19, officers spoke the alleged victim who said she was driving south on Telegraph Rd. when she was cut off by a Chevy Trailblazer driven by Abraira. The victim honked her horn at Abraira and then pulled up alongside him. The victim said that's when Abraira raised a handgun and mouthed the words "I'll shoot you."

Abraira then sped off and the victim lost sight of him.

Investigators later spoke with Abraira who admitted to cutting off another car that day. He said he has a valid CPL and owns two handguns. However, he denied brandishing a weapon or even having a gun with him that day, telling police he only showed the woman his middle finger while he was talking on his cell phone.

The Oakland County Prosecutors Office's issued an arrest warrant and Abraira was arraigned in 48th District Court on assault charges. Judge Kimberly Small set bond at $10,000, 10 percent, cash or surety.

Abraira's next court date is set for Tuesday, Nov. 22
