ESPN Accidentally Promotes Ohio State-Michigan State Matchup In Columbus [PHOTO]

By Will Burchfield
Ohio State and Michigan will renew their rivalry next weekend in Columbus, with a spot in the Big Ten championship game up for grabs.

Maybe someone should alert ESPN.

The "Worldwide Leader" promoted a matchup between Ohio State and Michigan State this morning on SportsCenter.

Whoops.

The irony is that ESPN's College GameDay show will be in Columbus on Saturday for a five-hour pregame bonanza beginning at 7 a.m. The show typically lasts three hours, but ESPN expanded its coverage given the hype surrounding this year's matchup.

For just the second time ever, No 2. Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan will face off as Top 3 teams in the AP poll. The first time occurred in 2006, when the first-ranked Buckeyes beat the second-ranked Wolverines.

More importantly, the winner of Saturday's game will remain in contention for the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State and Michigan State played on Saturday, which might explain ESPN's gaffe this morning.
