Power Outage Leaves Parts Of DTE Headquarters In The Dark

DETROIT (WWJ) DTE Energy is trying to get to the bottom of a power outage Tuesday that left part of their downtown headquarters high-rise in the dark.

Spokeswoman Stephanie Beres tells WWJ those affected workers are being told to go home and contact their supervisor for further instructions.

"At this point, with our customer service area up and operational due to our contingency plans we have in place we don't see any impact there so we're hopeful that business will remain constant and normal and we're able to provide high level service to our customers," she said.

DTE Energy hopes to have their headquarters high-rise back on the grid sometime this morning.

Beres told WWJ it's not a total blackout, adding the service building and general office building are fully operational.

About 4,000 DTE employees are situated at the downtown headquarters. There's no word what may have led to the outage.
