The walk and rally are part of national recovery month, one of a handful of states where it began in 2000, which draws over 2-thousand people. WWJ's Ron Dewey - The fight against human trafficking in southeast Michigan, one step at a time. Kerry Lynn, event team member on the September 9th event at Stoney Creek Metro Park, already with over 500 participants, to help human trafficking victims back on their feet after their rescue. Lynn says some victims of human trafficking are the products of bad decisions, but many others are forced into situations against their will, sometimes kidnapped off the streets...Many are surprised to learn Detroit is the second largest area for human trafficking only behind Las Vegas. Proceeds from the Color Run September 9th benenfit the Unshackled program and the non-profit group's' two rehabilitation homes in Pontiac and related programs.
