If lawmakers vote to restrict insurance coverage of abortions in Michigan, it would affect a small number of abortions because the vast majority already are paid for out of pocket.
There is no exception in cases of rape or to save the mother’s life.
“There are no exemptions for rape, incest or the health of the woman,” said Meghan Groen of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan.
