A 26-year-old Canadian man was arrested at the Ambassador Bridge after allegedly trying to smuggle 52 kilograms of cocaine from Detroit into Windsor.
Some say it’s a good deal for Detroit while other argue City Council settled for peanuts.
The city would get $3 million and 4.8 acres of new land, while the International Bridge Co. would get city-owned land that could be used for a twin span over the Detroit River.
The Coast Guard, Border Patrol, as well as Detroit police and fire departments are responding to the incident.

The payments came during talks between the city and Moroun’s International Bridge Co. over a land transfer deal.
Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made the announcement Thursday in Windsor.
The changes come due to the Canadian exchange rate.
Michigan Central Depot is part of a larger deal which includes land trades and money between the city of Detroit and the owners of the Ambassador Bridge.
The bridge was closed in both directions for about three hours Tuesday after a blaze engulfed a pickup truck and camper.
