The Michigan Wolverines will likely miss the tournament due largely to the loss of Caris LeVert.
“It was a real wake-up call,” junior guard Caris LeVert said Monday. “We’ve really gotten better because of those games.”
Caris LeVert had 21 points and nine rebounds, and No. 24 Michigan scored 11 straight points late in the second half to hold off upset-minded Detroit 71-62 on Thursday night.

University of Michigan junior guard Caris LeVert was selected to the 2014-15 Preseason All-Big Ten today as announced by the conference prior to its media day held in Chicago. LeVert’s selections is the three straight year a Wolverine has been and to the preseason squad.
With Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III headed to the NBA, Michigan has already lost its two leading scorers from the 2013-2014 team.
Caris LeVert scored 14 points for Michigan in the first half, when no other player on the team even sniffed double digits, and he scored even more down the stretch.
