Detroit Department of transportation
The loss of small change is adding up, officials say.
As Detroit moves forward in an effort to improve regional transportation, if you take the time now you can find ways around the city and never have to sit behind the wheel.
Detroit’s new department of transportation director says he’s determined to make the city’s bus system one of the best in the nation.
Federal officials plan to provide $41.6 million to DDOT that will be boosted by about $10 million in local and state funds.
“They get on the buses and they’re irate — and they’re taking it out on each other.”
Saying the up to three-hour waits at Detroit bus stops are too much, Bing said the problem will be resolved within the next 30 days.
The Detroit Department of Transportation will implement minor schedule and route adjustments, as well as improve travel times on certain routes, effective Saturday, April 23.
