NFL free agency
New Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate gave some golden insight into his decision to leave the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Backup quarterback Shaun Hill could be leaving the Lions for a team closer to his offseason home of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.
For free agent tight end Brandon Pettigrew, the situation would have been a new one regardless of whether Pettigrew stayed with the Detroit Lions.
The player himself took to Twitter and appeared to confirm the move.
After adding offensive players the first couple days of free agency, the Lions have turned their eyes to the other side of the ball.
“I love Detroit because Detroit loves me,” Bell said.
A team that already has one of the best rushing tandems in the NFL, the Detroit Lions could soon have the league’s best passing duo, too.
The Detroit Lions achieved one of their top goals this offseason, retaining Joique Bell, and took a step toward another one, setting up a meeting with Golden Tate.
The Lions brought Ogletree in shortly after the team lost Nate Burleson to a broken arm suffered in a falling-pizza-induced car crash.
The one-two punch of running backs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell will remain intact.
