A man appeared in court Thursday to face charges in the slayings of a southwestern Michigan couple who were beaten stabbed and shot nearly three years ago.
West Michigan police say a 48-year-old man previously charged with fleeing officers remains a fugitive and is suspected in a multimillion-dollar interstate car theft ring.
Caught by Rodney Akey of Niles, Mich. on the St. Joseph River in Berrien County, the fish weighed 49.8 pounds and measured 45.7 inches.
