Perrigo Reports Record First Quarter Revenue, Earnings

The Allegan-based generic drug and health products manufacturer Perrigo Co. (Nasdaq: PRGO) Wednesday reported net income of $106 million or $1.12 a share in the first fiscal quarter ended Sept. 29, up from $70.5 or 75 cents a share in the same quarter a year earlier.

Livonia Drug Firm Makes Buy

The Harvard Drug Group LLC of Livonia said its Major Pharmaceuticals division has purchased the Rugby over-the-counter pharmaceutical products and trademarks from Parsippany, N.J.-based Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NYSE: WPI) for $117 million.

Perrigo Sales, Profits Both Jump 15 Percent For Fiscal Year

The generic drug and store-brand health and beauty products maker Perrigo Co. (Nasdaq: PRGO) Thursday reported net income fo $393 million or $4.18 a share in its fiscal year ended June 30, up 15 percent from $340.6 million or $3.64 a share in the prior fiscal year.

NSF International, an independent global public health and safety organization which develops standards as well as tests and certifies products for the food, water, health and consumer products industries, has acquired Becker & Associates Consulting Inc., a clinical, regulatory and scientific consulting firm that specializes in U.S. Food and Drug Administration-regulated industries, specifically medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biologics.
