Radio Stations Pull Ke$ha, ‘Pumped Up Kicks’, After Sandy Hook

98.7 AMP Radio, a top 40 station in metro Detroit, no longer has “Pumped Up Kicks” in its rotation, and decided to pull Ke$ha’s “Die Young.”

At least 26 people, including 20 young children, were killed when a gunman assaulted the school and another body was found dead at a second linked crime scene, police said.  Police spokesman Lieutenant Paul Vance told reporters that the attacker killed 20 children and six adults, including someone that he lived with, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  The gunman also died at the scene, and a 28th body was found elsewhere.

Lawrence Tech Hosts Vigil For Sandy Hook Victims

The tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary is having an effect on children here in Michigan. Many attending a vigil last night on the campus of Lawrence Technological University.

The brother of Adam Lanza, the man responsible for the school massacre in Connecticut, reportedly told police that his brother suffered from mental health issues. Heather Irish, President of the MINDS program, says although it does not excuse the actions of the shooter, it may help officials understand why he did it.
