Nursing Home Roof Collapses, Two Die

Two people were killed Wednesday after part of a vacant nursing home collapsed around them on the Detroit’s west side. The pair were allegedly trying to salvage scrap metal from the abandoned building.

The Albert Kahn-designed, gothic four-story building in Detroit sits abandoned, many roof trusses exposed through a fire-ravaged attic, while the inside of the building has become a target of scrapers and thieves.
