There’s a new mentoring program for entrepreneurs in the Lansing area. The new program was launched by the Lansing Economic Area Partnership, the economic development organization for the capitol region, and Michigan State University’s Spartan Innovations spinout business accelerator.
Six entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to compete for a $10,000 prize while standing amongst priceless works of art at this year’s The Hatching finals, which will take place as part of the “Launched: Celebration of Entrepreneurship” event this Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.
The winner of last week’s East Lansing pitch competition, called The Hatching, was Folyo, an “Etsy”-like marketplace for the online sale of artwork.
This month’s Hatching pitch competition winner was an innovative mechanical engineering undergraduate from Michigan State University.

The room was packed at Beggar’s Banquet in East Lansing Wednesday night as four ideas were pitched for the second round of funding for The Hatching. The winner of this month’s event was The Basset Bowl by Joe Rabideau of Eaton Rapids.
The last Wednesday of every month, entrepreneurs and investors are gathering to take part in the newest pitch competition in the Mid-Michigan region.
