Emergency crews and residents in Dexter have begun the long process of cleaning up damage caused by a tornado with winds estimated around 135 mph that wreaked havoc across the village Thursday night.
More than 100 homes were damaged in the aftermath of three reported tornadoes that ripped through Washtenaw, Monroe and Lapeer counties Thursday night.
At least one tornado touchdown reported in Dexter. All of Southeast Michigan is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m.
Oakland County’s Outdoor Warning sirens are scheduled to test on the first Saturday of every month. A special test is also being performed on Wednesday, March 30.
