Twenty-seven holes of Championship golf in a pristine setting complete with excellent range facilities and pro shop. Shepherd's Hollow is not an easy course with it's hilly terrain and elevation changes, but it is beautiful in a private setting among the woods. It may be pricey, but it's also a must play at least once a season for the average duffer.

Moose Ridge has the Up North feel without driving four hours to get there. Each hole appears to be cut into the woods with mile high pines and challenging ravines. Course knowledge will certainly help your score, but once you play Moose Ridge, you'll want to come back to prove that theory. It's a little out of the way, but well worth it.

The Orchards in Washington Township

Washington, MI 48094

For years, this gem of a course has been thought of as the best course in Southeast Michigan. It's hard to argue as the greens and fairways are immaculate. The Orchard's is also a bit out of the way, but with it's incredible reputation, you can't wait to get out and hit the links. The course seems fairly open, so your four letter word vocabulary won't be tested off the tee...save that for the greens!

This is THE county owned course that gives you a wide range of golfing delights. There are a couple of deceiving holes that need your attention to detail, but the overall beauty of the course is spectacular with a wide range of wildlife gracing their presence. Grass tees on the range are key as is knowing your distances on some of the shorter par 4's. Make sure you bring some extra golf balls with you or at the very least, be prepared to do some hunting in the woods.

Boulder Point in Oxford

Oxford, MI 48371

Built on an old quarry, Boulder Point offers three different nine hole experiences, all great. There are plenty of elements to deal with, and yes, that means water. The fairways and rough are very well kept and you'll appreciate that as long as you stay out of the many bunkers. There are lots of courses out in the direction of Oxford, but Bolder Point stands as the best.
