Al-Ameer Restaurant (two locations) – Their pita bread comes fresh out of the oven, and goes great with any one of their dishes.  Even better news – their prices are more reasonable than you’d expect in the elegant atmosphere.  Need a place to party? Hold your shower, meeting or rehearsal dinner in their banquet hall.

Also featured on our Best Shawarmas In Detroit, Anita’s is a favorite of locals. You must try the Lemon Lentil soup. The Chicken Feta Fattoush salad is their house specialty. Heads up though … it doesn’t include any lettuce. Cucumber is the main ingredient. Also check out the unique array of appetizer items on the Mezza menu including everything from Feta, Olives & Tomatoes to Baba Ghannouge.

We heard the grape leaves and meat pies are amazing and the chicken kabob is perfectly spiced.  Their menu offers a great variety from steaks and seafood to salads, sandwiches and all your Mediterranean favorites at value prices.

Most would pass this place without a second glance, but inside is pure flavor heaven. The service is pleasant and quick and the kitchen and dining area is clean. The prices are very competitive. It’s a great place to pop in for a lunch or on your way home for a no-nonsense dinner. You’ll find typical menu items and they’re all a cut above the ordinary.

“Absolutely fantastic for what you pay.” Patrons note a romantic atmosphere, along with great food and great service.  Chef Habib used to make the food at a well-known Dearborn banquet center, and opened this restaurant so everyone could enjoy his dishes.

Royal Kabob

Mediterranean food is touted as a healthier choice — and most would agree when compared to other fast food choices in Detroit. The selection of highly nutritious menu items at Royal Kabob will please any health nut. Of course you’ll find freshly squeezed juices, Tabouleh (parsley salad) and lean meats in addition to great prices and excellent service.
