Best Public Pools In Metro Detroit

With summer heating up in Detroit, you're going to want some swimming options to check out around the city. And there are many beaches and lakes in and around Metro Detroit. Here's a list of the top five public pools in Detroit!

www.destinationoakland.comWaterford Oaks features a tropical wave pool, heated swimming pool and Big Bucket children's water playground with more than 30 interactive activities, including a giant tipping bucket, waterfalls and sprays. Ragin' Rapids offers a three-story group raft ride. Snag a season pass for $59 for Oakland County residents if purchased before June 29. Save buying multiple passes for the family and enjoy Waterford Oaks' picnic areas and concessions. There are early season discounts and daily passes available, too. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

Kids will thoroughly enjoy the water playground with 68 features, including water jets, curtains and slides, bubbler jets and a six-foot tipping bucket.  They also offer a Spray & Play, a water play area for toddlers, with 15 water jets and bubblers at zero depth. You can even enjoy the River Ride, a 990-foot long moving river. A season pass is only $99 per person for non-residents and $75 for residents. There are daily passes and early season discounts available, as well.

Contact the Williams Center for dates and times when cards are issued. Proper swim attire, soap for shower and a lock for your locker are required. They all offer lessons, open swimming, pool rentals for parties, swim passes and special events. Outdoor Summer Swim Lesson Registration starts Mid-May. For $10 per person you can obtain annual membership, with the ability to use any of their three outdoor pools.
