First, Chief Forecaster Karen Carter explains how hurricanes are formed and what category one winds feel like. Then, Perry Rech, Director of Communications for the American Red Cross, explains how volunteers have been working nonstop to help provide food, shelter, and health services for victims impacted by the hurricanes. Next, Western Michigan Law School Associate Dean and Retired Brigadier General Michael C.H. McDaniel talks about rebuilding infrastructure to withstand natural disasters. Finally, April learns about pets and animals who are left behind to fend for themselves after disasters and how the Michigan Humane Society is helping them the President and CEO of the Michigan Humane Society, Matthew Pepper. He’s joined by Mia, one of the dogs available for adoption.

Her guests Jack Roush, motor sports icon and the founder/chairman of Roush Enterprises, a global supplier of automotive product development services; Ed Welburn, iconic auto designer who led GM Design globally until his recent retirement; Ruth Fruehauf from the Fruehauf Trailer Historical Society. She’s the granddaughter of the late August Fruehauf, founder of Fruehauf Trailer Co. and inventor of the semitrailer; and William Chapin, grandson of Hudson Motor Car Company founder and son of former CEO of AMC. Chapin is the President of the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn where the first three guests were just inducted into the 2017 Auto Hall of Fame class.
