Jalen Rose Caught Speeding After Sentencing

CLAWSON (WWJ) - More trouble, already, for former NBA star and ex-Wolverine Jalen Rose.

Clawson Police Chief Harry Anderson told WWJ Newsradio 950 that Rose was stopped for speeding Wednesday night, just hours after he was sentenced to jail time on a drunk driving conviction.

"One of our officers was running radar on Main Street, right out here in front of the station, which is north of 14 Mile Road, when he observed a vehicle driven by Jalen Rose traveling southbound on Main. The radar showed that he was doing 46 in a 25," said Anderson.

Anderson said the ticket was written for only 10 miles-per-hour over the limit, adding that there was no indication that alcohol was involved.

WWJ and Fox 2 legal analyst Charlie Langton says the judge could now order more jail time on his drunk driving conviction.

"She could consider this a violation of his probation, and the remedy there would be more jail time, more of a fine, more restrictions," said Langton.  "If I was Jalen Rose, I would not wanna go back in front of Judge Kim Small."

Rose, on Wednesday, was sentenced to 93 days for getting behind the wheel in West Bloomfield after admittedly downing six martinis. Judge Small said he would be released after 20 days, barring any violations.

Rose is expected to report to jail next Tuesday.
