Man Killed While Walking Kids To Bus Stop

REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Police in Redford Township are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday morning.

WWJ's Florence Walton reports that a 28-year-old Detroit man was walking his girlfriend's two sons, ages 9 and 13, to a bus stop near the intersection of Plymouth and Telegraph roads.

The children's grandmother Mamie Palmer said the man was hit by a car and dragged through the intersection.

"He pushed the kids out of the way. When he seen the car accelerating, he pushed the kids out of the way, they even said it themselves. He tried to tuck-and-roll, but the car dragged him down and killed him," said Palmer.
