Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again which means it's time for construction crews to hit the roads.
The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-94:
Full Freeway Closure -- In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 between M-10 and I-75 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for M-1 roadwork. Westbound I-94 ramp to M-1 (Woodward) and Beaubien will be closed. Also 14th Street ramp to eastbound I-94 and Chene ramp to westbound I-94 will close.
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 between I-96 and US-24 (Telegraph) will have multiple lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for bridge work.
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 between US-12 (Michigan Avenue) and Rawsonville Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for bridge work.
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-94 between M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) and M-102 (8 Mile Road) from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for road work.
I-75:
In Wayne County, northbound and southbound I-75 ramps to westbound I-94 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for roadwork on I-94. Clay Street ramp to southbound I-75 will also close.
In Oakland County, northbound I-75 between Rochester Road and Livernois will have one lane closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for road maintenance.
I-96:
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound I-96 between I-94 and US-24 (Telegraph Road) will have moving lane closures from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for road work.
M-10: (Lodge Fwy)
In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-10 ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for I-94 closure. Also, Forest/Warren Avenue ramps to northbound M-10.
M-59:
In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound M-59 (Hall Road) between Hayes Road and Heydenreich Road will have two lanes closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for road work.
M-53:
In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-53 over 29 Mile Road will have one lane closed from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Monday for bridge work.
Reminder -- In Macomb County, northbound M-53 remains closed north of 18 Mile Road for bridge work thru end of August. Detour is Metro Parkway (16 Mile Road) to Mound Road to M-59 to M-53.

In Wayne County, westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) from Wyoming Avenue to I-75 will have multiple lane closures from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for road work.

M-53:
In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-53 over 31 Mile Road will have one lane closed from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Wednesday for bridge work.
