SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) -AT&T will begin offering Samsung’s newest smart phone – the S 5 mini – in retail stores and online Friday.

The compact smart phone will be available in charcoal black for $99.99 with a two-year agreement,or at no annual commitment for $428.99.

The phone features a 4.5-inch HD display along with an HD 8MP rear-camera and 2MP front camera, and comes with a pro-editing tool that allows users to enhance photos before taking the photo, and select the focus after the photo is taken.

It weighs 4.23 ounces and features 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded to 128GB with external microSD card. The S 5 mini also has up to 20 hours of talk time and up to 10 days standby time.

The release comes just weeks before Samsung releases the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smart phones. The new phones have a 5.1 inch screen with glass on the back of the device with metal edges in four different colors
