DETROIT (WWJ) – A 17-year-old driver says his brakes failed and that’s why he smashed into a Detroit city bus early Tuesday morning.

The driver and seven passengers on the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) bus were taken to a local hospital. All of them were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released, according to police.READ MORE: Judge Says Michigan Gov. Whitmer Won't Have To Testify In Abortion Lawsuit
The teenage driver and the three passengers in his SUV were also taken to the hospital, treated and released.
