The accident happened early Wednesday morning off westbound I-96 between Novi and Beck roads.
The driver apparently lost control of the truck, which went off of the freeway and landed on its side on the edge of a retention pond. Emergency crews responded to the scene and used an inflatable boat to rescue the driver, who was standing on the truck’s fuel tanks. He was uninjured.
By 8:30 a.m. crews had made progress in cleaning up the wreck and were able to pull the truck out of the pond.
