Traffic Alert: I-94 Completely Shut Down This Weekend In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) – If you're headed downtown Detroit this weekend, you might need a detour — a section of I-94 will be closed in both directions.
MDOT says I-94 will be closed between I-96 and M-10 (Lodge Freeway) until 5 a.m. Monday, June 13, so crews can set new support beams for the ongoing replacement of the Trumbull Avenue overpass.
Detours will be posted for each direction of I-94 using I-96, I-75 and M-10.
The Trumbull Avenue overpass is expected to open in October. The eastbound I-94 exit ramp to Trumbull Avenue and the Trumbull Avenue entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will remain closed for the duration of the project. The northbound and southbound M-10 ramps to westbound I-94 are expected to remain closed until mid-July.
