DETROIT (WWJ) – A busy section of I-75 in southwest Detroit is shut down due to a jackknifed semi-truck.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-75 and Vernor Highway.

As a result, all lanes of northbound I-75 are closed at I-96.

It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the crash, or if anyone was injured.

Police and emergency crews remain on the scene.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area. It’s unclear how long the closure will last.
