A local hotel is offering reduced rates this week at two of its locations, so people don’t have to drive long distances in case of the expected big snow.
Thomas Guastello owner of Comfort Inn in Utica and Livonia tells WWJ the rates apply to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night.
“In these times, people are driving further and further to work, which means a longer drive home in tough weather. This way, they save both the drive home and the driver there,” Guastello said.
Guastello says their normal rates are anywhere from $79 to $129, based on the features in the room, and they are cutting them in half for this week.
“The largest rooms have whirlpools and all the rooms have 42 inch colored TV’s…flat screens. So,. it could be fun for them too. We’re trying to make the best of our winter conditions here in Michigan,” he said.
Guestello says the two locations are also offering a free continental breakfast, along with hot cocoa and coffee.
Up to a foot, or even more, of snow is predicted to fall in Southeast Michigan Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 for the latest. (More on this story).
