DETROIT (WWJ) – Know before you go! You don’t want to delay your summer fun because you get stuck in traffic, so watch for these construction areas this weekend.

As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway)
In Detroit, northbound and southbound M-39 will be closed between M-5 (Grand River Ave) and M-153 (Ford Road) for ongoing bridge work. The full closure begins at 9 pm on Friday and ends by 5 am on Monday. During the full closure, both directions of M-39 will be detoured to US-24 (Telegraph Road).

Ramps will begin closing at 8 pm on Friday including Grand River to southbound M-39, east and west I-96 to southbound M-39, and Joy Road entrance ramp to northbound M-39. The full closure is needed to set new bridge beams at the Joy Road overpass and to demolish the West Chicago and Lyndon Road overpasses above M-39

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will be fully closed at 11 Mile Road (I-696 interchange) for bridge demolition starting at 10 pm on Friday and ending by 5 am on Monday. Crews will demolish the second half of the 11 Mile Road overpass above I-94. Eastbound I-94 traffic will be directed to westbound M-102 (Vernier Road) to northbound M-3 (Gratiot Ave) to eastbound Metroparkway back to eastbound I-94. Westbound I-94 will be detoured onto westbound I-696 to southbound M-3 to eastbound M-102 back to westbound I-94.

In St. Clair County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will have two separate 15-minute total closures on Sunday for stringing utility lines over the freeway. The two closures will take place between 8 am and 9 am.

In Oakland County, maintenance work will require two lane closures beginning at 9 pm on Friday and ending by 9 am on Saturday at the two right lanes northbound from 14 Mile to Maple roads, and the two left lanes from Adams to Square Lake roads.

In Wayne County, paving will result in the right two lanes of northbound and southbound I-275 being closed between Hannan and Ecorse roads, starting at 8 pm on Friday until 5 am on Monday.

In Wayne County, paving will result in a two lane closure on northbound and southbound I-275, between Ann Arbor and 5 Mile roads, during the overnight hours. The lane closures begin each evening at 8 pm and end by 7 am the following mornings on Friday and Saturday nights.

In Wayne County, pavement repair and final cleanup from earlier truck accident will result in the right two lanes of westbound I-94 being closed from Haggerty to Belleville roads. The double lane closure begins at 9 pm on Friday and ends by 5 am on Monday.

In Oakland County, westbound I-96 will have the right lane closed at Milford Road for bridge maintenance starting at 11 pm on Friday and ending by Noon on Sunday.

US-24 (Telegraph Road)
In Oakland County, starting at 7 am on Sunday, crews will shift traffic on northbound Telegraph from 12 Mile to Maple roads onto the newly constructed left two lanes.

M-15 (Ortonville Road)
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound M-15 will be reduced to a single lane, with flag control, between Rattalee Lake and Hadley roads for road repair starting at 5 am Saturday and ending by 9 pm on Sunday.
