'Missing' Fliers Go Missing As Search Continues For Detroit Couple

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's bad enough to search for a lost loved one, but now someone is thwarting that effort as a family searches in Detroit.

"We've been hearing over and over again that he is deceased and his body has been burned, but we have not come up with a body," said Sharon Murray talking about the search for her brother, 51-year-old Randall Childs.

Childs and his girlfriend, 50-year-old Karen Young, were last seen on June 7 when they left Child's home in the 3,000-block of Grand
River in Detroit.

Murray told WWJ's Kathryn Larson the family has posted dozens of "missing" fliers all across the downtown Detroit area, but for some reason they are being removed.

"We cannot sleep. I mean, we've gone back and they tear them down again. We put them up, we tear them down ...  in various areas," she said. "We have had lots of tears, and we wonder why ... what's the purpose of taking them down?" Murray said.

Murray said she is searching for her brother's dental records just in case he has been burned.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for tips that help police locate Childs or Young. Anyone with information about the couple's whereabouts its urged to  contact Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. You can also text your tip  to CRIMES (274637).
