'Ace' Gets Court Reprieve; But Has He Already Been Put Down?

UPDATE 11/10: Detroit Euthanizes Pit Bull 'Ace' Despite Court Ruling

DETROIT (WWJ) - An emaciated Pit Bull mix found in Detroit last weekend and nicknamed Ace may have been put down ahead of schedule.

That's the word from the woman who says she's Ace's owner. Nitta Moses said her dog had been stolen months ago and when she went to Animal Control Wednesday morning with proof that she was its owner-- the staff tried to give her a different dog.

"Either produce my dog or things are going to get ugly and they don't even have to. All I want is my dog, all this isn't even necessary, publicity and stuff - it's not necessary. Just give me my dog back. That's all I want. That's all I'm asking for and I will go away quietly, I promise," Moses told WWJ's Violet Ikonomova.

Now a Wayne County Judge is barring Detroit animal control from euthanizing any pit bulls through next Friday, November 18th until the issue can be resolved.

Tuesday the Detroit Health Department told WWJ that under their policy, 'Ace' would be put down on Friday.
