Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee talked with Charlie Langton about the homicide of 9-month old child on the city’s east side. It is the 43rd homicide of the year in Detroit. A quiet neighborhood was shattered when a minimum of 37 rounds of bullets from an AK47 were fired at a home, killing the baby inside. It was a miracle that nobody else was injured or killed but the tragedy is heartbreaking. Crime Stoppers is involved, they believe it was gang related, and they feel that they know who the target was.
A memorial and funeral service have been set for the victim, Delric Miller. And a community gathering called the Thou Shall Not Kill Motorcade will gather at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3600 Van Dyke, in response to the baby’s killing.
