Person In Custody In Inkster Woman's Shooting Death

INKSTER (WWJ) - Police say they have someone in custody in connection with the shooting death of an Inkster woman.

Investigators say Cheryl Fields, a 49-year-old mother of four, was ambushed at her home on Williams Street, in the area of Michigan Avenue and Inkster Road, Wednesday night.

Family members say they believe Fields was targeted by a man who was recently released from prison.

Investigators are checking on whether Fields may have been involved in his criminal case.

No other information has been offered on the person of interest who police said was in custody Thursday night.
