Lions: Nick Fairley On Injured Reserve

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Lions' writer Tim Twentyman said the team "ended to season" of DT Nick Fairley Thursday by putting him on injured reserve.

Fairley injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter of the Lions' 27-20 loss to the Packers Dec. 9. He missed last week's game in Arizona due to the injury.

It's unclear if he'll need surgery at this point, Twentyman said.

Fairley made headlines as one of the team's bad boys in the off-season with an arrest in May for driving under the influence and eluding police in Mobile, Ala. It was his second arrest in less than two months. He was arrested on April 3 for marijuana possession while speeding through a residential neighborhood.

But Fairley was coming into his own on the field and earned a starting role this season.

The Lions signed Ogemdi Nwagbuo, former Michigan State Spartan, to fill Fairley's spot.
