Accident Shuts Down Grosse Ile Free Bridge

GROSSE ILE (WWJ) – One person has been taken to the hospital after an accident on the Grosse Ile free bridge.

WWJ listener Mike Curtice of Trenton saw accident scene and said the car was dangling over the bridge railing.

“There’s a purple four-door small car hanging perpendicular over the edge of it, just barely balancing ” Curtice told WWJ’s Sandra McNeil.

Trenton police aren’t giving out details about the driver who was injured.

The car was removed from the scene by noon, but the bridge remained closed into the early afternoon.
