Police Receive Tip, Locate Missing Redford Woman

REDFORD (WWJ) – Police in Redford have found a woman they originally thought may have been abducted.

The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday at the Marathon gas station on Telegraph Road near Schoolcraft .

A man and a woman entered the gas station and the woman asked the attendant to call the police for her – while the attendant phoned police the woman was assaulted by the man and taken from the store by force.

Police asked for help in locating the woman they believed was abducted.

Monday morning police say they located the woman at her residence after receiving a tip on her identity. Police say she told them she was fine … but there’s no word on whether she will press charges against the man, who was seen on surveillance video assaulting her, before forcing her into a car.

The incident is being investigated by the Wayne County Prosecutors Office to determine whether any charges with be brought forward.
