Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, and road work crews are expected to be out in full force across metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Detroit/Wayne County, eastbound I-94 from Cadieux Road to 8 Mile Road will have a single-lane closure from 9 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday for lighting and sign work.

In Detroit, eastbound I-94 will have a single left-lane closure at the M-10 interchange from 7 a.m. until noon on Saturday for bridge inspections.

In Macomb County, westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane from Masonic Boulevard to 13 Mile Road from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday for paving.

I-275:

In Wayne County, southbound I-275 from Ford Road to Ecorse Road will have a single lane open from 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday. The lane closures are needed for wrap-up work from construction last year.

I-75:

In Oakland County, southbound I-75 will have a single lane open from Saginaw Road to M-15 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and again from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Saturday.

In Oakland County, northbound I-75 just north of M-59 will have two lanes closed beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and ending by Saturday at 9 a.m. for bridge inspections.

In Oakland County, both directions of I-75 between 13 Mile and 14 Mile roads will be reduced to a single lane, one direction at a time, from 9 p.m. Saturday and ending by 6 a.m. Sunday for bridge inspections.

In Oakland County, northbound I-75 exit to Big Beaver Road will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday for pavement repair.

I-696:

In Oakland County, eastbound I-696 from Orchard Lake Road to Inkster Road will have moving single-lane closures both Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, southbound Woodward Avenue from Webster to 14 Mile Road will be reduced to a single lane, nightly, both Saturday and Sunday, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.

M-10 (Lodge Freeway):

In Detroit/Wayne County, northbound M-10 will be closed from M-8 (Davison Freeway) to 7 Mile Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for repair of the Schaefer Highway retaining wall. All exit and entrance ramps in the area will be closed, including the westbound Davison ramp to northbound M-10.

M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue):

In Macomb County, both directions of Van Dyke Avenue between 34 Mile and Almont roads will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday and ending by 5 a.m. Tuesday. Access will be available for local traffic only.

M-59:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound M-59 at Clinton River Trail will have single-lane closures both Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. for road maintenance.

Beginning the week of Monday, June 10:

I-75:

In Wayne County, the ramp from eastbound Eureka Road to northbound I-75 will be closed at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12 for pavement reconstruction. A detour will be posted. The ramp is expected to open in late July.

M-39:

In Wayne County, the eastbound Van Born Road entrance ramp to northbound M-39 will be closed beginning Monday at 7 a.m. through the following Monday.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Wayne County, northbound Woodward Avenue from Adams Avenue to Columbia Street will have double lane closures beginning at 9 a.m. Monday and ending by Sunday, June 16.

M-59 (Highland Road):

In Oakland County, westbound Highland Road at Duck Lake Road will have the right-turn lane closed daily, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for utility work.
