Mike Valenti's Fantasy Football Contingency Plan

By Mike Valenti

As we discussed last week HERE the object is getting Jimmy Graham. As promised, here is what I'm recommending if you don't.

"Punt" the position and wait for late value on these sleepers.

Brandon Myers (NYG)—Yers comes to the Giants after being targeted 12,378 times (really 105) by Carson Palmer last year. He now has actual talent around him in Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. While the target number may dip, his production could soar. Helloooooo red zone.

Jordan Cameron (CLE)—I was probably a year early on Cameron who was a combine freak/former USC basketball player/executive chef/astronaut. Last year he showed flashes, fleeting flashes but never took hold of the starting job and well, Cleveland stinks. Another year, more experience, could really rise.

Rob Housler (ARI)—Carson Palmer loves his Tight End….stop, I didn't mean it like that. See Myers above. His new Tight end is Rob Housler. Worth a shot late.

Jared Cook (STL)—Add a QB, some weapons and a change of scenery….you get this selection of Cook. A great athlete, who with a bit of help and some luck could be a real nice starter for you.

Greg Olsen (CAR)—awful rapper and often inconsistent NFL player, Olsen went HAM towards the end of last season. I'm expecting a big year from both Olsen and Cam Newton. It's a nice value for someone ranked between 9th and 13th on various lists.

Brandon Pettigrew (DET)—Facepalm…yes, I typed it. Sometimes guys are better fantasy players than real life players. This is one of those times, especially if you get credit for receptions, etc. Again, for a guy ranked between 7th and 15th on various lists it's worth a reach later on. He could catch 70 balls and have 5-7 TDs. I'm going to shower off after this.
