Damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and a chance of tornadoes are possible on Sunday afternoon and evening in southeast Michigan.

The weather service statement says that an unusual amount of warm and unstable air for November is entering the southern part of the state, increasing the risk for the severe weather.

By late Sunday night, colder temperatures are expected to rush back into the area, but strong winds with gusts up to 45 mph will still be around through early Monday.

The weather service cautions residents to be aware that damage to trees and power lines could be caused due to the severe weather.

For the lastest from the roads, stay with WWJ Newsradio 950 for Traffic and Weather on the 8s, 24-hours a day.
