Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's that time of year again, when orange barrels start making their way onto roads across Metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-275:

In Wayne County, north and south I-275 from Will Carleton Road to M-102 (8 Mile Road) there will be a moving double-lane closure on Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 6pm for bridge inspections.

In Wayne County, east and west I-275 ramp to 6 Mile Road will be closed on Saturday from 7am to 7pm for construction.

I-96 (Jeffries Freeway):

In Wayne County, east I-96 (Jeffries Freeway) Local Lanes from US-24 (Telegraph Road) to I-75, there will be moving lane closures on Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 5pm for bridge inspections.

M-5 (Grand River Avenue):

In Oakland County, on Grand River Avenue from Middlebelt Road to Halsted Road there will be intermittent single-lane closures from Friday 7am thru Sunday 5pm for road maintenance.

M-102 (8 Mile Road):

In Wayne County, east M-102 (8 Mile Road) from M-39 to Hoover Avenue there will be daily moving left-lane closures at major intersections from 6am to 3pm on Friday and Saturday for road work.

In Wayne County, east and west M-102 (8 Mile Road) from Kelly Road to I-94 there will be a daily moving left-lane closure from 6am to 3pm on Saturday for road work.

Beginning the week of Monday, March 24:

I-275:

In Wayne County, north I-275 at Joy Road there will be daily single lane closures on Thursday and Friday from 9am to 3pm.

In Wayne County, north and south I-275 at Van Born Road there will be a single lane closure daily on Friday thru Sunday from 7am to 3pm for sign work.

M-102 (8 Mile Road):

In Wayne County, east M-102 (8 Mile Road) from M-39 (Southfield Road) to I-75, there will be moving left-lane closures at major intersections on Friday from 6am to 3pm for road work.

In Wayne County, west M-102 (8 Mile Road) from I-75 to M-39 (Southfield Road) there will be moving left-lane closures on Thursday from 6am to 3pm at major intersections for road work.

In Wayne County, west M-102 (8 Mile Road) from Hoover Avenue to I-75 there will be moving left-lane closures on Wednesday from 6am to 3pm at major intersections for road work.

In Wayne County, east M-102 (8 Mile Road) from Hoover Avenue to I-94 there will be moving left-lane closures on Monday from 6am to 3pm at major intersections for road work.

In Wayne County, west M-102 (8 Mile Road) from Kelly Road to M-97 (Groesbeck Avenue) there will be daily moving left-lane closures beginning Monday thru Saturday from 6am to 3pm for road work.

In Wayne County, east M-102 (8 Mile Road) from M-39 to Hoover Avenue, there will be daily left-lane closures at major intersections on Monday thru Saturday at 6am to 3pm each day for road work.

M-3 (Gratiot):

In Macomb County, north and south M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) from 14 Mile Road to Ulrich Street, there will be daily intermittent lane closures beginning Monday and continuing thru the end of April from 9am to 3pm for construction.

M-39 (Southfield):

In Wayne County, south M-39 (Southfield Road) from Roosevelt Road to Allen Road daily right lane closures from 9am to 3pm will continue until late April for utility work.

In Wayne County, north M-39 (Southfield Road) north of Allen Road there is a single lane closed until the end of March for utility work.

US-24 (Telegraph Road):

In Wayne County, north and south US-24 (Telegraph Road) from Ann Arbor Trail to Plymouth Road there will be single-lane closures that will continue thru the end of March from 9am to 3pm for daily road work.
