DETROIT (WWJ) – After that ridiculous winter, how does sunny and 67 degrees sound?

That’s the forecast for metro Detroit for most of the day Thursday, with warmer temperatures in the forecast through the weekend. With many local residents’ hopes high, we’re bound to see some people breaking out the flip-flops by Friday.

“At least over the next several days we’re either at or above normal,” said WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Bowers.

There is a little bit of rain in the forecast, however, with the first round expected to hit the area in the form or a few showers early Thursday evening.

“And behind that front, it actually stays pretty nice … Friday and Saturday, a couple of nice days to be out and about: 60 on Friday, 64 Saturday — both days partly sunny,” Bowers said. “And then we could be looking as some periods of rain on Sunday.”

That rain will probably keep temperatures in the 50s to near 60 on Sunday.
