Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again which means it's time for construction crews to hit the roads.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-696:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound I-696, east of US-24 (Telegraph Road), will have a lane blocked in from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday for utility work.

In Oakland County, eastbound I-696 from Greenfield Road to Coolidge Highway will have the left lane closed from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for utility work in tunnels.

I-696 Service Drive:

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-696 Service Drive between Dequindre and M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday for road work.

I-75:

In Wayne County, southbound I-75 from Springwells Street to Schaefer Highway will have the two right lanes blocked from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for Rouge River Bridge work.

In Oakland county, northbound and southbound I-75 at M-59 will have lane closures from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for maintenance.

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound I-75 at Big Beaver Road will have lane closures from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound I-75 at 14 Mile Road will have moving lane closures from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.

In Oakland County, westbound I-75 Business Loop (Square Lake Road) at M-1 (Woodward Avenue) will have a lane closure from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday for road work.

I-94:

In Wayne County, eastbound I-94 from Warren Avenue to M-10 (Lodge Freeway) will have moving lane closures from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for utility work.

I-96:

In Oakland County, nighttime work continues, eastbound I-96 from the county line to Novi Road, two lanes remain closed nightly through 5 a.m. Thursday, July 3 for road work.

M-10:

In Oakland county, northbound M-10 (Northwestern Highway) east of US-24 Telegraph will have a lane closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for utility work.

M-59:

In Macomb County, westbound M-59 from Van Dyke Avenue to Ryan Road will have two lanes closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday for road work, leaving only one lane open.

In Macomb County, westbound M-59 ramp to Mound Road will be closed until 6 a.m. Monday.

In Macomb County, eastbound ramp from Mound Road to eastbound M-59 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday, then only one lane open on ramp from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20.

M-3: (Gratiot Avenue)

In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) between 8 Mile and 10 Mile roads will have one lane closed from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for local event.

M-39: (Southfield Freeway)

In Wayne County, northbound M-39 (Southfield Freeway) from Schoolcraft Street to McNichols Road will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for road work.

Local:

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) at Wyoming Street will have a lane blocked from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for road work.

In Wayne County, southbound Wyoming Street loop ramp to southbound M-10 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for road work.

In Wayne County, westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) ramp at Greenfield Road will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

In St. Clair County, eastbound and westbound Lapeer Road will be closed under the I-94/I-69 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday for road work.
