Clinton Township Man Charged With First-Degree Murder In Ex-Girlfriend's Shooting Death

TROY (WWJ) - A 21-year-old Auburn Hills woman was found shot to death outside of her work and now, police are saying her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend and father of her child is responsible.

Cory Mullen, of Clinton Township, was arraigned Tuesday at 52-4 District Court on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He was ordered jailed without bond.

Mullen, who was named a person of interest early on in the investigation, is accused of killing 21-year-old Jamila Vigier-Cage. The Auburn Hills woman was found around 6 p.m. Saturday dead in the driver's seat of her car, which was parked behind the office of One Source Talent Agency on Industrial Road near Coolidge in Troy.

Police said Vigier-Cage had multiple gunshot wounds to her head and upper body, and that it appeared the gunman was inside the vehicle at some point.

Mullen was taken into custody near MGM Casino in Detroit around 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mullen, the father of Vigier-Cage's 8-month-old son Josiah, is due back in court on March 18.
